FAQ

Stranger Things was filmed in Jackson?

Yes, that’s right! Stranger Things was filmed right here in Jackson, GA! Many of the iconic locations like Melvalds General Store, the Hawk theater–and most famously the Library–are right here in downtown Jackson. We’ve had a chance to witness filming for years here and some of our most favorite scenes were seen in person. As a reminder, after season 4–downtown Hawkins is the center of the show!

How far is our walk on the tour?

There is some walking on our guided tour. Not to worry. You travel a little less than a quarter of a mile over the course of the entire hour. Much of this time is spent participating in our performance. Refreshments are included in the price of the ticket. We recommend comfortable shoes and seasonally appropriate clothing.

Do you do birthday parties?

We like the way you think. We will be offering a birthday party add-on to our guided tour. Feel free to contact us should you have questions.

I have food have food allergies or a limited diet, can you make substitutions?

We will be serving pizza and Hopper’s extravaganza, both of those have dairy and wheat gluten. We unfortunately do not make food substitutions for all, but for gluten-free we can have a gluten-free option available for a small upcharge.

Parking?

Our smalltown square is teeny. On-street parking quickly meets capacity. We recommend parking by the Jackson City Hall and walking over to our storefront which we share with Gold Lion Farm. Maps can be found on the contact page.

Where are bathrooms on the tour located?

Our public bathrooms will be located inside the library, and access during the tour is no problem!

I need to cancel. Can I get a refund?

Sadly, we do not offer refunds. Our guided tours are staffed by very talented people. Your money is immediately invested in their pay checks. We can reschedule you. Should we have to cancel due to filming you will be offered the option of rescheduling.

What is a guided tour?

Unlike a self-walking tour, our guided tours are filled with 80’s roleplaying characters, selfie ops with Stranger Things vehicles, one of a kind authentic 80’s props and snacks served from the show like the famous Surfer Boy Pizza from the actual surfer boy van. You’ll also get the inside scoop from the residents who live here and watched the filming for a “behind the scenes” exclusive event.

Are there places to eat before or after our tour?

Yes, we have several great restaurants on the square including Lucy Lu’s Coffee Shop, Buddy Blu’s Ice cream, The Brickery, El Mexicano and Bradley’s Pub.
